Ever built a feature no one used?
Felt powerless against pressure to ship half-baked ideas?
Or sat through sprint planning wondering when the real work would begin?
We’ve been there—more times than we care to count. Over time, we learned the only way out of that cycle is to deliver value early, get feedback fast, and build trust with both users and leadership.
Sounds like agile BS? It is—unless you’ve seen what it actually looks like in practice.
Lean Poker isn’t another agile training. It’s a hands-on Lean Developer Experience where you’ll feel what it’s like to be on a high-performing team: rapid feedback, real-time deployment, ruthless prioritization. All in the name of winning.
As a result, you will gain more experience with reacting to feedback, than you would on the job in a year.
No boring lectures. No buzzwords. Just you, your team, and the thrill of building something useful in minutes.
If you are looking to improve productivity and grow faster as an engineer.
If you are seeking to enhance team performance and meet high demands.
If you are looking for new ways of teaching engineering practices.
Over two days, you’ll join a team of engineers to build a poker bot that competes live against others. You’ll deploy early and often, reflect on what’s working (and what’s not), and tweak your strategy on the fly.
Retrospectives and the closing circle will be facilitated by Ivett Ördög, a coach with decades of experience in the software industry, known for helping teams move beyond “agile theater” and actually deliver value.
You’ll leave with a clear understanding of how small batch delivery, fast feedback, and continuous iteration actually feel—and why they matter.
The event reinforced how crucial it is to deliver fast, monitor results, and adapt based on data. It's what Agile engineering should be, but we often get sidetracked.
Loved Lean Poker for its real-world edge over code katas. Ever since I first participated I want to share this invaluable experience with other developers.
Lean Poker is not just enjoyable, it's a smart Agile training tool that offers a risk-free environment to experiment with Agile practices.
All in all I had a lot of fun and learnt a lot. Lean poker is a fun way to practice lean principles and get to know people and I highly recommend it.
